Once an informal group is in place or a plan is in progress, foundations that might support the effort are not those that necessarily support literacy, but instead search for the following keywords: “social justice,” “grassroots organizing,” or “democratic participation.”

The Foundation focuses its grant making on programs that will address public policy questions concerned with national and international issues. There are no geographical restrictions. Initial inquiries should be in letter form signed by the organization’s president or authorized representative, and have the approval of the organization’s board of directors. The letter should include a concise description and budget for the specific purpose for which the funds are requested. Known for its support of conservative issues, the Foundation is currently focusing its efforts on cultivating a renewed, healthier, and more vigorous sense of citizenship among the people, both in America and worldwide.
